Not much difference between 2G and 3G
8 of 8 found this helpful The iPod Touch is the best portable media player on the market right now. It sports a clean user interface and becomes extremely extensible through the usage of apps available from iTunes. The 3G model sports a new graphics processing unit that should improve the frame rate on games. It is not that big of a draw for me since I don't game on it.
There is a slight improvement in rendering for the menus and transitions but it is barely noticeable for most because the 2G's processor was sufficient for almost everything with a few hiccups at very rare moments.
The biggest draw for me was the capacity. It gives me plenty of room for music and digital copies that I get with my blu-rays. Everything just screams smooth with the Touch.
There are a couple of drawbacks with the device which, in my opinion, are minor. The Touch can't multitask (run apps in the background). The only thing that you can do simultaneously is play music and run apps. Some apps do have push notification which is a decent workaround but not my favortite. Still, not that big of a deal for me. My Blackberry can cover that.
The other drawback is that the audio quality isn't as good as my old Creative Zen. I love audio quality and have earphones costing several hundred dollars to support it. The Touch's quality is decent but not spectacular. It's good enough to not even be close to being a deal break for me. It's just something that I wish was better.
The speaker on the Touch is just plain bad. In a pinch, it works but don't expect to have great quality from it. It can't match the speakers I've had on cell phones and especially not my Blackberry Tour. Again, for me it's not a deal breaker because I could have cared less about the speaker.
As a whole, I am extremely satisfied with the Touch. I wouldn't even consider another player because this fulfills my needs with an elegant interface--interfaces are something many companies do not understand the importance of.
If you have a choice between a 3G or 2G Touch, I would recommend going with the 2G if the price is appreciably lower. Either way, I think that you will enjoy this product. It was my first Apple product ever and induced me to appreciate the finer points of clean design.

Great TV!
5 of 5 found this helpful Awesome picture quality. Very little adjustment needed out of the box. I believe picture quality is very similar across the OLED line so any series will do your picture justice. Just wanted the larger size which only the C series and above have. Remote is neat.

Okay if you can tolerate average cover bands
I played this game after playing Guitar Hero III and Rock Band first. It definitely feels like a step back but is understandable since it is an earlier game. There are a lot of lesser-known songs in the game mixed in with a few hit songs. It was disappointing to realize that most of the better known songs were done by cover bands. Not to knock on all cover bands because I have been in places where the cover bands did just as well we the original. It seems like most of the covers done in the game were mediocre at best. There were a couple of songs done by the original bands, though. If you're looking for something to pass the time, go ahead and grab a copy if you can find one cheap.
