Nikon D40... You Can Shoot Better Than A Pro
2 of 2 found this helpful I have Owned and used almost every American Nikon Body up to and including the F4. When Digital first came out I could not afford Nikons' price so I acquired another good Name Brand Digital System. I relegated my film Nikon's for very special projects and contest work. I still wanted a digital Nikon body so that I could make use of all that good glass I had in my arsenal of lenses, like my AIs 15mm Nikkor f:3.5. Well I found a great D40 on sale here at eBay, stepped up and purchased it.
The D40 Kit I purchased performs outstandingly well. The 18-55mm Kit Lens allows you to compose and squeeze off shots with amazing speed and absolute clarity. After what turned out to be a brief familiarization tour of the controls, menus and display, I was shooting intuitively with this new extension of my hand and retired my film cameras.
No matter if your a newbee... serious amateur... or professional photographer the D40 allows you complete photographic creativity. The three different focusing zones let you place your subject in the aspect of your choosing, yet quickly change to the next situation.
Weather you are using (M) Manual, (A) Aperture Priority, (S) Shutter Priority, or (P) Programmed Mode the thumb wheel (Command Dial) gives you tactile control readily visible in the bright finder.
Just want to point and shoot? Well there are eight other modes to give you automatic versatility and the ability to compose through the lens totally unencumbered what ever your style
You would do well to invest in the D40 Kit. Its' light weight body delivers heavyweight photos that Sell or Entertain and you wont have a tired arm or bank account at the end of a shooting session.

An Epic Cinematic Achievement Depicting The Preservation Of The "AMERICAN REPUBLIC"
After Suffering Through 2 Defective DVD's (@ Chapter 19 And Catastrophic Failures) I Wanted To Have A Working Copy Of This Epic Cinematic Achievement In My Video Library... So For My Third Copy Of This Work I Purchased The Directors Cut "Blu-Ray" Rather Than Take A Chance On Purchasing Another Defective DVD Copy...
The Characterizations Of The Performing Artists Is Phenomenal... Each Lent Humanity And Compassion To The Historical Figures They Represented...
The Additional Footage In This Version Adds A Better A Clearer Understanding Missing From The Highly Cut DVD Version...
The Only Detraction Of This Edition... Is That It Lacks The Interviews And Production Notes Contained On The DVD Version... (Shame... Shame... "Ted")
A Ted Turner Masterpiece Portraying The Preservation Of The "AMERICAN REPUBLIC"
