Great camera, good price.

I shoot about 50,000 photos a year for over the last 11 years. This is my third Sony DSLR; my now one month old a77 has taken 1679 shots of this morning. The camera is what I expected, heavy, with a nice three finger grasp point. I do like the on screen level meter, and the new focus system is a little different, with a lot me information available in the view screen. The dual screens are very nice; I can see the last shot taken shot in the view finder. The 6x quick look is still there also to check that all people in the photo have both eyes open, and fingers in the right locations. The 12 fps is nice for catching the single action photos, and is smoother the old 6 frames per second. The zero sound and feel of no mirror popping up and down with a SLR is taking me more time than I thought. I have many times reviewed the last shot as I was not sure it was taken. The ability to take good night time photos without flash is better. I was surprised of the small file size, about 10Mb for the higher 24 Mp camera, it’s the same as the 12Mp of the a700. In short, if you need a 24Mp camera get a better lens, Carl Z. has nice ones starting at about $700. I’m happy with the camera. Lamar
