Satellite In The Sky
A Science Fiction movie from 1956 that I had never seen before. There aren't many of those because back then we went to the drive in every weekend. Most of the plot centers on stereotyping the scientist as only seeing his goal of solving the problem of making the ultimate bomb without worrying about the consequences of his actions. I guess that pretty much sums up Edward Teller who invented the Super Bomb aka the Hydrogen Bomb. Most of the actual science in this movie is a compilation of the "man in the streets" view. Weightlessness is a hindrance to moving about in space, things must stick together like magnetic nails and the space craft will be built like submarines. It is better than Conquest of Space and not as good as It Came from Outer Space.
