Great Family Musical production in Technicolor with wonderful Performances!
Great movie with a lot of Pathos, Romance, singing, dancing etc. Donald O'Connor is amazing, as is Ethel Merman, Dan Dailey, Mitzi Gaynor etc. Johnnie Ray was a standout when he sang and performed. Those are the Pros. The Cons? Not enough of Johnnie Ray! I'm a big fan and even met him once. Expected more songs by him, all in all, an extremely enjoyable production. I've never enjoyed Ethel Merman's screechy singing, but I developed a tolerance for it halfway through the movie. Marilyn Monroe was alluring and watchable.Highly recommended!

Some funny scenes. Familiar scenes from other movies of this type were there.
It's funny in a juvenile way. That is the pro. Negative? I love women and the totally naked men scene was uncalled for. They could just have commented on what they saw and not have it depicted graphically. It's a movie you see once and never again. Regrets? Some. The quality was fine. Sharp imagery. That's about it. My Review of the movie SING (on VHS tape)
Dislike? One thing. The fact that it's not available as a DVD. The vhs is okay, but I would like it better in DVD form. If you liked GREASE and /or Elvis' early movies, you will LOVE this one! Peter Dobson plays and looks somewhat like a young Elvis in this one.(He also went on to play Elvis in a couple of movies). He dances great also. All of the talented singers and dancers are great here! Lorraine Bracco from the Sopranos, Patti LaBelle, Louise Lasser (remember Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman?) and other incredible performers put on a school play. Reminded me a bit of FOOTLOOSE story wise. The songs are original and likeable. Dobson's love interest (Jessica Steen) looks a lot like Julia Roberts back in her Mystic Pizza days! Believe me; this movie has a little bit of everything to please everyone! If it's available anywhere: rent it, or better still, BUY it! Why did I buy it? After seeing the movie, A STRANGER'S HEART, I became a fan of Peter Dobson. Joe Scibetta
