As long as your CD is not old or overused or illegal, you will be fine. Note that this model has Japanese words instead of usual "stop" or "play" but it's still possible to use the player because of the form of the buttons
BTW you can slow down the playback, this is good for learning CDs (as noted by the manufacturer)
