Classic!
While this album marks a big change from their first two albums (and I am a big fan of those), I love Napalm's more straight-forward death metal approach on this one. The riffs are catchy versus overly technical and the lyrics are about social and politcal problems rather than gore or cartoonish satanism like many other bands of the time. A lot of reviews don't give this album the credit it deserves. If you're a fan of the band, or of the genre, check this out!

Two excellent albums on one disc!
2 of 2 found this helpful This release contains the first two official Sodom releases - "In the Sign of Evil", and the Steamhammer version of "Obsessed by Cruelty", which is the better of the two recorded versions of this album. Both albums are cornerstones in the development of black metal, but mainly are just fun to listen to. Highly recommended!
