My name is Kyle Smetiouk and I started this journey amidst the Pandemic as the houseplant craze was kicking off. At first, I acquired different houseplants that were popular in the 80s and 90s until I eventually bought my first orchid. I bought an Oncidium (Dancing Lady) Orchid and immediately fell in love once the flowers finally opened. From there, I became frustrated as I tried to find other exotic species that I hadn't heard of because the prices were quite high for a broke college student. Soon, I began to look for ways to acquire plants more cost-effectively.
I found a wholesaler based out of Hawaii called Kalapana Tropicals which allowed me to make orchids more accessible to others. I continue to list plants on eBay until I can afford to buy my own domain and launch my own website. All profits made from this experiment will be funded towards building a website or reinvested back into my brand, Kyles Orchids. I am constantly lookingfor new inventory and expand!

I was provided a FedEx tracking number, and kept checking for a scan. I asked if he had a scan receipt and was told “No. It is out of my hands. He then told me that he ships 20-30 packages at a time and wasn’t waiting for a scan receipt. USPS delivered my package because it was dropped off at the wrong shipper! The seller refunded me $10 and told me they had sold out of the product I purchased so they just shipped me something I did not order instead.
