About

My name is Kyle Smetiouk and I started this journey amidst the Pandemic as the houseplant craze was kicking off. At first, I acquired different houseplants that were popular in the 80s and 90s until I eventually bought my first orchid. I bought an Oncidium (Dancing Lady) Orchid and immediately fell in love once the flowers finally opened. From there, I became frustrated as I tried to find other exotic species that I hadn't heard of because the prices were quite high for a broke college student. Soon, I began to look for ways to acquire plants more cost-effectively.
I found a wholesaler based out of Hawaii called Kalapana Tropicals which allowed me to make orchids more accessible to others. I continue to list plants on eBay until I can afford to buy my own domain and launch my own website. All profits made from this experiment will be funded towards building a website or reinvested back into my brand, Kyles Orchids. I am constantly lookingfor new inventory and expand!

    The plant was not in great condition when it arrived, but it was not because of the packaging or the plant. It was because the courier was too slow. It arrived more than a week later than expected. I love this plant, and it came with flowers, exactly as it looks in the picture!

    BEWARE OF THIS SELLER! Kyle has absolutely no customer service or concern for his customers. I was provided a FedEx tracking number, and kept checking for a scan. I asked if he had a scan receipt and was told “No. It is out of my hands. He then told me that he ships 20-30 packages at a time and wasn’t waiting for a scan receipt. USPS delivered my package because it was dropped off at the wrong shipper! I asked Kyle if he would consider a 50% refund for his error, his response is disgusting!

    This buyer was rude, demanding, and belligerent to our staff. Kyles Orchids does not support this type of behavior and we have reported this account to the eBay authorities. The plant was delivered within the specified time and met the listing pictures and description.
