Great bang for the buck!
I don't have another kick drum microphone to compare this to, but we're using this in our church and getting great results. This mic is placed inside the kick drum, and we're planning on either using a sub-kick or another kick mic outside the drum. This D6 is sturdy, seems difficult to damage. I have no buyer's remorse at all.

Great mic for the money, better sound than the SM57 w/ wider pickup pattern
I compared this mic side-by-side with the Shure SM57. The i5 is definitely an instrument mic, it doesn't sound good with vocals. The i5 is more sensitive than the SM57, and has a wider pickup pattern due to it's design - it picks up sound not only straight-on, but from around the mic head also. We tried to use this mic for the high hat, and found it to be too sensitive, it was picking up too many other sounds. You could actually use this mic as a drum overhead, it picks up that well, although there are better quality mics for that purpose. We ended up using this mic for the flute player, instead of her previous SM57. This mic is much better for the flute. Other than drum overheads, if you try to use this mic on a drum set, you will probably find it hard to pick up JUST the drum you want. The SM57 is more directional and has better rejection, so is better suited for toms, snare, and high hat. You could probably use the i5 placed underneath the snare, with an SM57 above the snare, that would be a nice sound.

Choose another brand. Samsung phones are great, but not bluetooth devices.
The reason I bought this particular headset was for it's advertised ability to connect to two phones. Samsung did a very poor job with this feature, and it does not work as advertised. I expected the multi-connect to work flawlessly with my Samsung Galaxy S3, since both devices are manufactured by Samsung, but no go. I still have to choose which of my two phones I want it connected to. The included directions are incomplete and very poor at best. Samsung's telephone support was worse than a Google search. The earpiece talks to you when you turn it on ("Power On") and off ("Power Off") and upon connection ("Device Connected") which is a cool feature. The device looks good, I get complements on its appearance.
