Surprisingly good quality
After reading comments about Rockville products on message boards I was a bit hesitant to order these speaker stands. However, my application does not require top quality, so I figured they would work for me either way and I took a chance.
After they arrived I was surprised how big and heavy the box was. I took this as a good thing, because it indicated they were not lightweight junk. I removed the carrying bag from the cardboard box and I was surprised when I opened the bag and discovered that the bag has two compartments to separate the stands, and each end of the carrying bag has two snap straps to hold the stands inside the carrying bag to keep them stable inside the bag.
I removed the stands from the carrying bag, removed the plastic bags from the stands and set them up. They are indeed much heavier and better quality than I anticipated based on the comments I had read on other sites.
The only issue I had has one adjustment knob was hard to turn but loosened up after a couple of adjustments.
These may not be the best stands money can buy, but they are probably the best stands for the money.
I actually need four stands, and after my experience with these stands, I will definitely buy another set this week.

Needs Improvement
1 of 1 found this helpful This is my 4th dash cam. The previous 3 being in the $15 price range. I purchased this unit thinking it was "the next step up" in features and quality. That is only partially true.
The unit construction does seem to be better than the $15 units. It feels more solid. But the camera mount is not snug and the camera can rattle around a little in the mount.
The GPS antenna uses a self-adhesive pad to mount it to the windshield. As with most self-adhesive products, they don't hold up to the Arizona sun and the adhesive gave out in just a few days. I have to stick the GPS antenna back on the windshield every couple of days.
The manual is small and printed in very small print. It is sometimes hard to follow as the grammar is not quite correct. Fortunately, the camera menu is more intuitive than my previous units, and better than the manual.
The camera does not support downloading via USB. You must remove the CF card and connect it to your computer using a CF adapter. After doing that you can only see one file, which is the viewer. The CF card is formatted using a proprietary format, as are the video files (which don't show up anyway until you launch the viewer application).
Upon launching the viewer you are presented with nice looking graphical user interface, but I was disappointed to find out that the viewer playback window can only be expanded to an unusual resolution that measured 846x318 for me.
The viewer does allow you to view your location on Google Maps during playback, but it is in a tiny window in the application and not in your browser. The viewer also displays your GPS coordinates as well as your speed of travel. However, none of this gets transferred if you choose to export the video to your pc.
The export process is painful to say the least. Because the video is stored in a proprietary format you have to use the viewer application to export the video. I have a 64GB CF card and it took approximately 3 hours to export the entire card to my pc. After the export is complete, the only data transferred to the video is the date and time. None of the GPS data or speed of travel is available on the exported video. If you ever need the video for evidence, you cannot simply send someone the exported video, unless you are not concerned about the GPS or speed data. But with GPS being one of the primary reasons I purchased this unit, I'm very disappointed that GPS and speed data is lost when you transfer the video to your pc.
I'm also disappointed that the exported video is a bit more pixelated than the $15 units I purchased in the past.
(The reason I no longer use the $15 units is that 2 of the 3 began malfunctioning in 2-3 months and became unusable, and they don't have GPS support)
I will be buying another dash cam to replace this one, although I will keep this unit and place it in the rear window.

Keeps cats from tracking litter
