Soaking up the competition...
Chem-Wik by Chemtronics is the best desolder braid on the market. This product is a staple on my bench and is used religiously. I've tried other methods and different brands only to realize I'm just wasting money and time. This product has the perfect formula to soak up even the most hateful gobs of solder. Its quick heating time and excellent absorption properties makes for very clean solder traces with very minimal cleaning needed if any. This product allows me to quickly remove unwanted solder and/or remove components with very low heat transfer to the components themselves. Chemtronics offers a variety of lengths and widths to help cater to what ever project you have at hand. I personally prefer the .100 due to the nature of my business. If you want a top quality stand by there product company that doesn't just produce profits but a great product that you will render great results every time. Go to B&D Enterprises and order you a few roles of Chemtronics Chem-Wic desolder braid. 50ft of braid for under $20 bucks. I shouldn't even have to finish that sentence. Also check out Chemtronics other products such as there Contact Cleaner sprays and Liquid Tin products. Chemtronics products definitely have a home on my bench.
p.s.
After your solder braid has been used for its intended purpose don't throw it away. You can still use it for other purposes. Desolder braid being an actual flat braid of now tinned copper strand works excellent as ground strapping for shielding components such as power transistors or small IF transformers, etc.
