the best
I've owned many McFarlane action figures but this one is by far the best. The design is great -- this thing is an actual MONSTER with a zillion points of articulation.
If only ALL McFarlane figures were so well designed -- and so scary -- by being alien instead of gruesome.

The best book about werewovles (and I've looked!)
There is a sort of holy trinity (or unholy, as the case may be) of serious werewolf books: Summers's "The Werewolf," Baring-Gould's "The Book of Werewolves," and O'Donnell's "Werewolves." "The Beast Within" tops them all. Adam Douglas takes us on a journey beginning with prehistoric man and ending with the werewolf in pop culture (the book was published in 1992). This is not a book for "Twilight" fans; this is a scholarly but easy-to-read work accessible to anyone who's curious about the true mythology of the werewolf. Summers's book is considered the gold standard of werewolf investigation, but too much of his "The Werewolf" contains quotations in their original (and untranslated) Latin, Greek, French, Spanish and Italian, which is tough on the casual reader. Not to say that "The Beast Within" is a casual read; it's serious stuff, and for the serious werewolf buff, start with "The Beast Within" and work your way down to Summers's "The Werewolf."

Most excellent figure
The figure has incredible detail, period, and if you're a collector, that's all you need to know. I did commit the sin of taking the figure out of the package. You can stand him up on the foot pegs on the base, but a good shake can knock him off, which is why God invented Loc-Tite. Before gluing him on, make sure you've got him posed the way you want -- it isn't hard.
