Swedish axe for a bargain price
I am by no means an axe expert. But I spent a long time researching and the research led me to this axe, which is a quality Swedish made axe at less than half the cost of other premium axes. A little sharpening, light sanding and a coat of linseed oil and it seems to me that it will be as good an axe as the Gransfors for less than half the price. The grain of the wood handle appeared to be tight and oriented well. The leather axe mask that comes with it is nice. The real test will be how it holds up to the abuse dished out by the Boy Scout who's going to receive it as a Christmas gift, but first impressions are that its a good value and may be an heirloom quality tool that could be around the family for generations.
