The ecovac does very well on my carpets and my hardwood floors. Just like any brush it will pick up long hair and get tangled. They provide a cutaway tool to cut the hair from the bristle brush which is awesome. It's only difficult to get the hair off around the ends. I would say there's only two downfalls with this machine. It will not return to home unless it is very close to the charging base, has to be within five feet. The remote doesn't work well at all unless you're four to five feet away from it. Other than that the machine works awesome in every mode.

Water filter
Bought a two pack. Installed the first filter three times cause the o'rings wouldn't seal. So i spent the 25 bucks for 2 filters but since the first filter wouldn't seal it was garbage and i only got to use 1 filter out of the two pack.
