The Demensions: Over The Rainbow NEW CD Single
Jul 03, 2017
Great CD!
For many, The Demensions are not a well known oldies group. I was one of those who was not really familiar with them. I heard their rendition of "Over the Rainbow" on a compilation CD, and wanted to hear more. This CD gives you a good representation of their expertise. I liked it so much, I purchased several more for some friends who love Doo Wop and Oldies. I would recommend that you purchase one too if you like the nostalgia of that style of music.
Anthony Burger: Masterpiece and More
Apr 11, 2017
Background Accompaniment a Distraction/The whole performance seemed too "artificial"
Anthony Burger was a good pianist. He did not need background accompaniment tracks--it was a distraction that hindered the viewer from more fully hearing his talent. The way it was filmed made it seem very artificial. Why was Janet Paschal singing on this DVD? She should have at least chosen a song that she sings well. Her version of "Over the Rainbow" was one of the worst renditions I've heard. However, it is always neat to hear one of their parents of the "star" perform, and "The Voices of Lee" (a college chorus) was very entertaining. But, I purchased the DVD in hopes of hearing Anthony Burger, and I was generally disappointed. I did not purchased "The Best of Anthony Burger from the Homecoming Series" because on several songs the drums were too loud (pour mixing) & boring. I just wanted to watch Anthony playing the piano without a lot of "hoop-la". Maybe I'll have to purchase his "Hymns Collection" CD instead.

A Great Investment!!
Though I was told the Yamaha RBX170 was the low-end Yamaha bass, I was pleasantly surprised by it's quality and sound. I am a beginner, and this bass fit my needs perfectly. I don't think this bass sounds cheap, and with my accoustic 100 bass amp, it sounds just fine. A great investment!
