Great Ending to a Masterful Series
5 of 5 found this helpful After waiting all this time, it took me 2 days to read through this book and I was thrilled. Terry managed to not only wrap up every storyline but also managed to get every major character from previous books back into last story. As usual, Terry treats us to a rather large amount of socio-philosophical dialogue through Richard that we have all read before, but I must say that is the only issue I had with this ending to the story.
The characters are fantastic and the storyline delivers some action we haven't seen before, not just swordfighting, but gamesmanship through a Ja La game. It was absolutely riveting. We get to see old favorites again and the conclusion of the story which actually worked really well.
If you've been following this series since it's beginning, you wil be extremely pleased with this conclusion of the story Enjoy!

Great Book, Great Series - Interesting TV Show
I first read Wizard's First Rule several years ago and got hooked very quickly. Terry Goodkind's skills at character building are amazing and his stiry telling made you wish there were more time in the day to read. I've read the entire Sword of Truth series but went back to the beginning when the TV adaptation started about 2 months ago -Legend of the Seeker.
I have to admit that I like the show, but it doesn't follow the story in the books. Still, the beginning of the adventures of Richard and Kahlan which started in Wizard's First Rule was expertly crafted and would win over men and women alike.
Be forewarned, this series thrives on character-relationships but the action depicted is exceptionally brutal. Terry does not mask any of it. As an adult, I appreciate this quality of realism in my fantasy-realm escape but it is not appropriate for younger teenagers.
