Buying this lid saved us the cost of a new steamer
The product we got was in almost like-new condition. At first it seemed like a lot to pay $20 for just a lid, especially since our original steamer only cost us $35 10 years ago. But since the part no longer available by the manufacturer, we couldn't find our 5712 model new anymore, the used ones seem to go for almost $200, and we don't like Oster's new and "improved" version of this machine, we gladly paid the money. Our current 10 year old steamer still works great and we didn't want to just toss it and pay more than the $20 lid for a full replacement steamer (that doesn't fit our needs) just because we accidentally broke the lid.
