Cover can come off but still love these
Love these but if you plan to use for freezing then defrosting on the go (liquid), use a baggie because cover can come off. Great for frozen fruits, defrosts by lunch.

UPDATED (unit died 9 months after this review) Works For Our Purposes So Far
UPDATED 11/16/21: unit began making loud noise, pulled plug (AC), plugged in agin, started again, sounded like an airplane descended. Pulled plug out of wall, plugged back in. Nothing. Tried another outlet. Nothing. Trying to contact seller but return page not active. Will update if issue resolves. (End update).

We bought this mainly for road trips & camping; to keep my husband’s & my medications cool in the car as well as a few road sodas and snacks. We have yet to take a long trip but so far even a grocery trip where we bought ice cream, it stayed plenty cool enough for the 30 minute drive home. I don’t see us using the warmer but it’s good to have anyway.
Our minivan has an extra dc that only runs when the vehicle is on so as to save the battery so we keep it plugged in there instead of the front dash ones. We also have a built in inverter but the dc works well because even with the van off, the items don’t get even slightly room temp warm until after the cooling stops for several hours.
For preparation, I plug it in the house a few hours before, place cool items in it and then bring to the van - it’s super easy to transport & sturdy enough it doesn’t move much.
It does not fit “width” wise between the front two seats as I’d hoped but length-wise it does. Or, just behind them - we’ve done both to make it accessible from the front seats.
One thing - don’t try to force open the lid; the carry handle is the lock :-) just move it forward. Neat feature but a new one to us LOL!
So far, I’m happy with it.
