So great for the price!
2 of 2 found this helpful This is an awesome little product! Some seriously fine shaved ice. Ive been messing around with it for a couple weeks so here are a couple of tips.
- Dont try to shave ice cubes, it works, but you will inevitably leave larger chunks of ice as all of the ends pull through while shaving.
- Go slow and keep constant pressure on the ice while you're shaving. This gives you the perfect shave. Don't shave until the end of the block unless you wants some chunks to go through. I pull out the stub and then start a new small block.
- Hold your cup under the spout instead of letting it fall into the bowl, if you're going to use the bowl throw it in the freezer for 1 minute before so the warm bowl doesn't start to melt the snow as it hits.
- Freeze small blocks of ice, I found our round plastic kids bowls work perfectly! Its about 1-2 inches think and is the perfect fit for the shaver. Throw 2 or 3 in the freezer, pop them out, and you're ready!
We've whipped up some pretty tasty snow cones! Vanilla ice cream in the bottom is the very best. The snow if super soft and fluffy and is seriously perfect! Im so glad I found this product. We purchased some concentrated flavors you mix with sugar and water, so the cost is going to be next to nothing per snow cone! woot woot! My kids cant get over them, and i've enjoyed a few myself. :)
