An Indy Music classic
This was Buffalo Toms debut outing, Mixed by fellow indy hero J mascis From Dinasaur Jnr. As with most bands first album you can hear the roughness of tracks that would go on to show BT's distinct sound. Alternative radio latched onto the opening track "Sunflower Suit" a blend pre grungle dirty rock with a slight hint of psychedelia that was preminent in bands around that side of the genre.
The bands simple 3 pieceline up ,excessive saturation of distored guitars (at points reaching over saturation)and Bill janowitz's vocals that showed he wasn't afraid to wear his social heart on his sleeve, leave the album with a number powerful and heartfelt song. Stand outs for myself are The Bus, Raccine and 500,000 Warnings. J mascis also lends a guitar solo to song Impossible.
Buffalo Tom went onot to mellow a little of there grunge edge and write some indy radio anthems in future years and albums that have stood the test of time,. Big Red Letter Day being one for sure. But to see a band in there early rough edged energetic era this album will not dissapoint.
I was lucky enought to see this band play new zealand on this albums realease tour in 89, and was not dissapointed.

Finally treated myself
0 of 1 found this helpful A japanese Waterstone is nothing short of heaven when it comes to having to sharpen and care for your knifes. Be they EDC (every day carry) or kitchen knives these stones just make sharpening a pleasure and a joy and a very zen caling thing to do. I mean who doesnt get goose bumps when they hear good steel slide down a waterstone as the edge returns..
They do what they are made to do and they do it so well, what more can I say, Treat your knives, Treat yourself, Treat the food or jobs your using your knives on.
