Francis Ford was a fine actor and director
"Another Man's Boots" is better than the average B western of the 1920s. Francis Ford (who I believe had a hand in directing this film) shows some of the bravura work his action films were known for, and tenderness in the love scenes.

Fun history of the first nickelodeon movie theaters in small town America
Fantastic book! Says the author : ) its a well-researched history of the spread of movie theaters and movie-going practices across the US, between about 1903 to 1915. Lots of small town nickelodeon movie theater stories, and lots of material about the earliest fan magazines. For 600+ photos of nickelodeon theaters, check out the book "One Thousand Nights at the Movies: An Illustrated History of Motion Pictures 1895-1915," by Q. David Bowers and myself. Several ebay sellers have this 2013 book at a reasonable price. KF
