A True Delight

What a lovely compliment to the Yamaha receiver-amplifier for which it was designed!!! When I purchased that elderly-but-reliable unit (at a Goodwill store, of course) I had no hope of ever being able to adjust its volume from across the room -- since the previous owner had lost the original remote control unit (probably "eaten" by a hungry couch) some time before the receiver-amp was donated for re-sale. But thanks to a helpful eBay seller... NOW ALL IS WELL. Whoopee!!!

eBay is a great place to find replacement remotes!

I bought one of the "legendary" Oppo DVD players (but missing its remote control) at a second-hand store -- for less than a tenth of what these beautiful babies justifiably go for on eBay. Then I shopped here for a matching RC and found this device... which was actually designed for the subsequent model in the product line... hoping that the infra-red codes (DV-980 versus DV-981) would be compatible. And they are! (Except for the still-frame function, but the stop and slo-mo functions do compensate for that slight inconvenience.)
