Performs its primary functions well, but boy howdy does it need a software update it won't get
The Panasonic DMP-BD903P-K does the primary things it should: it plays movies from USB, blu-ray disk, Amazon, and Netflix (and presumably the other streaming services it is set up for). The wifi connection was easy to set-up, as were my streaming accounts. The picture and sound are good.
However: (1) there is no web browser, so you can only use the services Panasonic included originally; (2) the menus are unnecessarily deep and unintuitive, and also remarkably ugly (my best guess is that they let the boss's 10th grade computer whiz-kid nephew design the menus himself. Thanks, Uncle P!); (3) There is no iPhone remote app, so typing requires one to tediously move a cursor around a grid of characters, so it can take approximately forever to get to what you want to watch.

A very good value
For the recent sale price, this is an awfully nice speaker. It seems to be solid and it sounds awfully good with classical, jazz, and even vocals. I read lots of complaints about the PlayFi software that scared me, but it works well with (a) music on my iPhone and (b) streaming from amazon. Maybe if I needed another source I'd see what all the grumbling is about. (C'mon, PlayFi, you've got a lot of money riding on this software. it can't be THAT hard to get it right.) The speaker is a bit boomy and boxy sounding, especially with rock or other deep bass tracks, but it's still awfully nice for the money.
