Just so you know..

The block off plate is as expected, it fits well. As a heads up, the vent hole is not drilled yet. The threads are m14 (?) I believe, and if you have an SVDA distributor a 90° connection might be required. I found it more economical to drill and tap the hole for a slightly larger standard thread, for which fittings are easier to find and cheaper. However the item itself is exactly what was needed.

Works great, sturdy build quality, and the refurbished item looks brand new. Instructions and tools made assembly fun. Software was a bit difficult to get working on Linux and there's no support, but Linux users will be used to this and it is possible (the old version of Lightburn works best). After that, I was happy with the 5W laser for wood burning and vacuum cup engraving. While small logos work okay without, I do recommend the rotary tool for cups, otherwise the edges get "soft" and smear.

Fine if you have wiggle room

They work just fine for their intended purpose, just plan on +/- 0.005". They're made of stamped steel. I've bought two packs of these Empi 0.090" shims and measurements between the two packs varied from 0.085"-0.092", good enough to get you in the ballpark but too unpredictable for precision if you're running a tight deck already. If it really matters, get better quality or custom cut shims. These work on a budget or in a pinch though.
