Great all-around lens for Canon Mirrorless Cameras
3 of 3 found this helpful The Canon EF-M 18-150mm lens is the perfect "all around" lens for a Canon M series mirrorless camera. It covers the 35mm equivalent range of 18 to 240mm, which is most of what I ever need. The lens is really sharp, and distortion is minimal. It is also compact and light. This is the lens I use for about 90% of my pictures.

Canon EOS Rebel G Film Camera
1 of 1 found this helpful If you want a great starter SLR to learn about photography, this is it. It is easy to use, has excellent flexibility and all the manual controls you could ever want. The only disdavantage (by modern standards) is a rather slow film advance at only one frame per second. Otherwise, it has three autofocus zones, all the exposure controls you could ever want, and it only weighs about 12 ounces. To learn photography, it can't be beat. It also takes excellent photographs that can be readily enlarged to 11" by 14".
They are also available on Ebay quite cheaply, and there are quite a few of them on sale at any given moment. If you want to experience the joys of traditional film photography, this is a great starter camera.

Canon Digital Rebel XT - Great Starter DSLR
The Canon Digital Rebel XT is an excellent digital SLR, especially for a first one. They are now available for very good prices, and are only a small step up in price from a typical compact camera. It has an 8 megapixel sensor, which is enough to make enlargements, and takes photos as fast as you can press the shutter. The quality of the photos are much better than typical compact digital cameras.
I know there are more expensive DSLR's with more megapixels, but I did not have the $500 to $1000 to spend on one of them. For the price, a used Digital Rebel XT camera is one of the best values going!
