Great overdrive. Almost perfect.
2 of 2 found this helpful I'm an old school guitarist. I've used tube screamers for years. I was looking for something that had the dynamics of my screamers but had a shade more bass content without turning to mush. I found a few that worked, but I wanted a leave on set it and forget it pedal that would work with all of my gear on the same settings. The Timmy does that... Sort of. It works with all my guitars with one of my amps but not with the other. It loves my big el34 amp, it just doesn't get along with my smaller el84 amp. I was planning on replacing my 30 watt amp with a second el34 50 watt amp so that's not a real problem for me but it is something to keep in mind. Paul C designed this pedal around a Marshall Plexi. With that type of amp, there's nothing better. The pedal is versatile enough to work with other amps, but you will have to adjust the settings. Just keep that in mind if you're considering the Timmy.

Something finally unseated my tumnus from my board.
1 of 1 found this helpful This dethroned my Wampler Tumnus v2 on my fly rig. Great little pedal. Of course, I've still got the Tumnus deluxe on my looping board. All great pedals, but this is what I wanted for the grab and go simple setup. Seems like on the distortion side's a little more open (allows more frequencies through) like the original.

This is a great guitar for the money.
Pros: Fit and finish are excellent in this class. Decent hardware for the price range. Sustains for days when properly set up.
Cons: It's a little on the heavy side. The stock electronics are passable, but not fabulous.
Be aware: There are some differences between model years. These had a square neck joint and agathis body until 2007. Starting in '07, they switched to a smooth rounded neck joint and mahogany body. Some people dislike agathis, but I've found it to be a decent wood for guitars. That said, I got mine used but it's the later 2008 mahogany body. That's what I'm reviewing so this review is current.
For anyone interested, the first two numbers of the serial are the year. Look at the neck joint, and look at the headstock. The older headstock has a circular cutout. The new one has a checkmark chamfer on the end.
You can't go wrong with any of these for the money. Even the early models will be worth the price.
