Eduard 32874 WWII Japanese Navy Aircraft Seatbelts Steel Painted 1/32 Scale
    Sep 28, 2016
Japanese Navy seatbelts, 1/32 scale, by Eduard
I will not build a kit without Eduard parts. EVER. I have come to love their precision, appearance, and relative ease of assembly. They elevate a cockpit, airframe, or engine to new levels with a finished, professional look. The appearance is so real, it seems as though you're ready to strap in and start her up! Eduard has so many parts available now, that if you needed to superdetail a wheelbarrow, they probably have the parts for that too! All kidding aside, they are well worth the investment and don't really cost that much. They are also worth the investment in time. Yes, you definitely add time to your build and sometimes the instructions are a bit vague ("the solution to this problem is obvious and is left to the builder as an exercise" kind of thing) but that is not a major problem. Once you figure it out, assembly goes pretty smoothly. Highly and robustly recommended. Treat yourself to these sets and have fun. You're gonna love the way your project looks when you're done--I guarantee it!

    Trumpeter hits a home run!.......Bf-109G-2
Trumpeter is sort of a strange company......you have to watch carefully every time they release a new kit. They have had their issues with accuracy in the past (such as their F4F-4 Wildcat kit, which, to their credit was pulled from the market and necessary corrections made to the misshapen nose) and the disaster of the P-40B kit, with a cockpit one-third too small which ruins any chance of showing off the interior. But they restored themselves with the Me-262 releases, and this Bf-109G-2 is another winner. It really is a 109G-2, with the proper location and size of the airscoops up front, proper cockpit, properly shaped propeller blades, and appropriately-styled canopy used in the G-series aircraft. The Daimler-Benz engine is exquisite, consisting of over thirty parts and it even has separate, hollowed exhaust stacks. The side cowl panels can be positioned to show off this beautiful engine. The guns supplied with the kit also have hollowed muzzle openings (except for the engine-mounted MG-151 cannon, which you cannot see anyway.) The supplied tires are rubber but there is a separate tail wheel tire, so all the wheels are easy to paint and yes, I find the tires useable (they also have the early ribbed tread, too.) All in all, I'm very pleased with this kit and can't wait to get it started. Well worth the price and definitely worth building......arguable the best early G-series 109 in any scale, IMHO!
5 x Military 1" sling clips Snap Hook Strap Rifle Gun Attachment Black

    M-1910-style snap hooks.
If you're looking for an inexpensive way to replace or upgrade your missing or corroded snap hooks for your gear, this is a good low-cost way to go. Only difference between these hooks and the GI snap hook is the curved portion of the hook is not quite as rounded as the GI version (it has a somewhat flattened appearance when looked at from the side.) If this doesn't bother you (it didn't bother me), go ahead and get these. They work just fine and will restore your straps to a working state. They can be used on any web gear that needs them, not just a rifle. Recommended.
