Very good camera
1 of 1 found this helpful I read a few reviews (there are plenty out there) but I like the shake-reduction and intelligent flash most.
I've had many indoor pictures in which your subject is nearly white and the background is black, when I want to capture a 'crowd' scene. This camera achieves that pretty well. It does balance the background and foreground in dark indoors situations very well. Also, it has a cool feature where you can take 2 pictures with one click - one without flash, one with. Saves me saying 'hold on! I'll just try one more with flash' because I've often downloaded blurred images of people which looked fine on the camera's preview screen.
It's heavy, fairly robust (I guess - I haven't tried throwing it at a wall yet!), and easy to use. It's pretty quick to turn on and use, and to take a picture (which was a failing of my last camera - took so long to come on, that the moment had passed.) This is pretty quick to come on and be usable.
The resolution is more than good enough, and the extra light sensitvity gives you more chance of capturing indoor scenes. Colours are very vibrant, and it pics up a lot of detail - but there are strange artefacts as with all CCD cameras, where zooming in to slightly out of focus areas results in large flat colour areas - but not much of the noise or purple dotting you see in other cameras; Or at least, they don't appear until the scene is a little darker than most!
A very good camera, especially for the money. the F30 is apparently 'better' having a few additional 'logic' things, like face detection, but the innards and working parts are the same - so you get a nice point and click which you can also use for semi-serious stuff.
I also find the macro very useable and gives some lovely depth of field effects.

Excellent television, great price.
1 of 1 found this helpful I was recommended this item by a friend, as it is a great price for a BRAVO3 engined Sony HD 32" TV. It has more connections than I need, loads of features, online capability (allowing LoveFilm and such directly from the TV) and the image is crisp and clear. Connected to my Sony DVD player, the upscaling is also excellent from SD to HD. I've heard better sound, but it is more than adequate - and I think wall mounting or placing nearer a wall will help the accoustics (as mine is a little way away from the wall).
The price is good, but make no mistake that this is a premium Sony product. It's worth paying the little bit extra for the 403 version over the 401 version.
Highly recommended.
