Nektar's best album with extra live recordings
Disc 1 is Nektar's best album with a live recording of it from the same time period I think. Disc 2 is live recordings from 2007. This was a great value. I love the official review calling the guitar work funky 70's style, even though he was just stating the obvious oddity of the technique. Funk guitarists may have used similar pedal work but Remember the Future sounds neither funky nor dated. I think Nektar was inferring a spacey, squeaky, trans-dimensional allusion for Bluebird and the RTF concept in general. It works because it keeps the album upbeat between scarier, spacier, more sinister-sounding intervals on the album.
    The UFO Investigator's Guide

Dated and more for the UFO investigator / witness interviewer
The book is a bit dated from a time when video cameras were a luxury item, to borrow if you knew someone fortunate enough to own one. Personal computers are just coming on the scene but still DOS 2.0 - 4.0 powered, crop circles are in their heyday... The intro speculates on Chariots of the Gods type stuff. It seems intended for the journalist or UFO organization investigator. It has some good pointers, but I'm a quarter of the way in and am going to set it aside for a while. I'll get back to it, since I do in fact own a Geiger counter, but I wasn't intending to ever get that close or be lucky enough. The UFOs I took pictures of with my cell phone were distant yet not a flock of birds--no way. I wish I had a REAL camera with me that day. I need to know what it might have been and what it wasn't. I don't think this book is going to help me much, but I'll get back to it later, much later.
