I had never seen the MFJ-801 prior to ordering... typical MFJ cheap crap... I would be embarrassed to call what MFJ calls soldiering at least in the unit I received ... and with no instructions all readings are meaningless (no, there isn’t a an owner’s manual online that gives any meaning to readings)...

Be sure your vehicle has a older dash style with a lip

A good idea with mediocre execution. The glue holding the snubber pads let go the second warm (85 deg) day. Of 4 vehicles I had planned on using them (I ordered 2) they are only properly usable on one vehicle. See the second pic for an alternative mounting. Not only the vehicle fit is important but also fit to the device. Should your device have curved edges such as my TomTom (see photo), it may slip after being in the sun or from road vibration.
