The Best live Rock'n Roll band doing what they do best
If you like the Stones you will like this, as its from live performances it contains odd tracks that I don't think have appeared elsewhere, and some of the sound quality is not as good as a studio recording might have been, but you get a taste of the atmosphere and audience.

1 of 1 found this helpful Made In Japan' quite simply is certainly one of the great live albums. It explodes from the speakers with 'Highway Star' and Ritchie Blackmore's guitar solo based on Bach is a classic! The ultimate driving song. 'Child In Time' is one of the most stupendous songs Deep Purple wrote. Ian Gillan's vocal performance is stunning as is the guitar solo! Jon Lord's gentle opening organ chords leading to a climatic finish! The No.1 riff ever 'Smoke On The Water' and one of the best versions Purple did of this song. With that fantastic classic guitar solo! And the lyrics about the Montreux casino burning down. 'The Mule' has intresting lyrics, Gillan truely is one of the all time best lyric writers not just singers. The drum solo by Ian Paice is brilliant!

Keeps problem callers away
We had a problem with an idiot who at different times of the day and evening would press our door bell and run away. I put a dummy security camera above the door and a sticker warning callers of the camera and hey presto the daily door bell ringer ceased pestering us..
