Failure to meet advertised protection rating of IP 65
I had purchased 2 of there units for mounting a signboard on the roof of my vehicle, I purchased these units as they were listed as having an IP 65 protection rating. The units worked fine for about 12 Months then one failed causing significant damage to the sign so that it needed to be replaced. I removed the failed unit & stripped it down to try to find the fault & discovered that a significant amount of water had penetrated the internals of the unit causing the failure. The rating IP 65 means - the first figure is for dust & 6 means that dust is completely sealed out - Fine, the second figure is for liquid & 5 Means - Water jets Water projected by a nozzle (6.3mm) against enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effects. I asked the seller when I purchased 2 new units if these were in fact rated to IP 65 & he told me that they were but should not be mounted externally without protection, ridiculous, if they are a true IP 65 rain should have no effect. The water ingress into the failed unit was through the screw holes as the screws when taken out had rust all down the screw length. I sprayed the new units with a spray rubber protection compound to prevent this happing again.

Nice incomplete item
Item arrived safely but had no thread tapped into the mounting holes, luckily I had the correct tap to be able to mount the unit.otherwise I would not be able to fit it.
