Not the cheapest RFID module, and that's a good thing.

While the hex->ASCII->hex->bin converting to get a useable number is a bit tricky, the device works well and came already reasonably tuned to the antenna provided. Reads are impressively consistent and do not have any of the wavy-hand issues that can plague some RFID readers that require perfect alignment for a good read. Even with the chip inside a case, the reader saw it from several cm away.
