Could've been a 3-pack
I realize I paid for a 2-pack, but the packaging was originally a 3-pack (one had been removed). I would have been content paying a little more for the 3rd file; I saw multiple ads for 2-packs, so I just assumed this would be packaging made for 2. I came across 6-packs here and there but figured I'd lose the pack before I got through that many; it would have been handy to have one in my pickup, one in my toolbox, and a spare in case I broke one of them.
I've already used one on 2 saws; it works great! Being they are 1/8" diameter, they do have some flex, which worries me about the ease of breaking them. (I'm used to the 3/16" for larger saws) Regardless, so far, so good!

ATN X-Sight 2
13 of 16 found this helpful Received the order as expected, no issues with ordering nor shipment. I recommend installing the firmware asap to have all of the advertised options. (Not a hard task). Also, I recommend downloading/printing the complete X-Sight user manual before attempting to set this scope up; I was so excited, I hooked it all up, and tried it out. I had an idea of what all the settings and buttons did, but the manual covers everything very thoroughly.
I have NOT zeroed it to my rifle yet, I just haven't made the time. I am pleased with the night capability thus far. I haven't used it for more than 50 yards, so I can't say for sure one way or the other on it's overall night vision performance. I DO like the white night vision view. I feel it gives better contrast to the picture.
This IS a scope for HUNTING. I do not believe it to be a quick, pull it out, and take the shot kind of scope. To utilize the range finding function, the correct adjustments and such, there CAN be time involved with each shot.
Also, since the device uses a display to show what the "camera" is seeing, the zoom acts just like in a camcorder; you can zoom in so far before the picture is degraded. I don't know for sure just how far I can zoom without this degradation, but it will do it.
I believe this kit was well worth the price, for everything it came with. It is NOT the ATN kit, and it does not include the rubber cover for sealing the power plug/hdmi port/scandisk when the pack is plugged into it; at the moment, it's not an issue for my intended use. I could see needing it in wet or even dust/dirt/snow blowing conditions.
I have already recommended it to some co-workers, as well as a couple hunting buddies. I haven't used other brands of night vision scopes, so I have nothing to compare its ability to.

They do their job well!
Great picture day OR night, EASY setup. I don't know if it's because I'm still in my trial period, but I haven't seen a need for the subscription. It says it has person detection, but it picks up bugs, leaves blowing in the wind, and my outdoor dogs seemingly easier than it does detect a person. All of which will affect the battery life; I was advised by a friend who has the same set, that he can get near 2 years on a pair of AA's. We'll see.
This system will be useful if I ever have an issue with someone being there when I'm not, but right now, I just have a LOT of video clips of my dogs running from one side of the house to the other, triggering recordings, and filling up my memory. Guess I'll just have to make a habit of reviewing recordings and clear them out daily; I could see the recordings getting so overwhelming that I just "Select All" and delete, essentially never realizing I may have selected a clip that I would have liked to have kept.
