Very good sound without noise cancellation; OK with
These headphones have very good, full, rich sound when the noise canceling function is off -- deep bass (maybe a little overdone) and very good mids and highs. When the noise canceling function is turned on, the bass is diminished substantially, and the other frwquencies are a bit muted. However, even then the sound quality is more than adequate. The headphones are reasonably adjustable and fairly comfortable (maybe a little tight) with highly cushioned ear pads.

Good battery with plenty of power
This battery is original equipment from Standard Horizon. It came half-charged and came up to a full charge in about 5 hours. Its charge capacity is more than 50% greater compared to 3rd party batteries (1800 mAh vs 1100 mAh). I have bought 3rd party (aftermarket) batteries for other applications and have nothing against them if they get good reviews. But in this case, I decided that the extra power is worth the extra cost for this application in a VHF handheld radio that may be needed in an emergency to call for help, to pick up others' distress calls, and even to power the strobe light on the radio in the case of man overboard or search and rescue.
