Superb album
This much forgotten classic issued here in its original format is an incredible album.
It's recently been reissued in a remastered, expanded edition but there's nothing quite like the atmosphere of the original.
Well worth buying if you're a fan of any of the contributing artists but the Rolling Stones tracks are well worth a listen. Brilliant.

Truly awful
1 of 1 found this helpful As a Who fan and having heard some of these songs scattered around on various compilations, I was very disappointed with the quality of the sound. It's like listening to a very bad bootleg with cotton wool stuffed in your ears. The sound is uneven and hollow with loads of dropouts as well.
Content wise its fab but sadly it's been ruined by a poorly thrown together production.

Superb original pressing
This edition is a must for any Hendrix fan. I had this version many years ago on vinyl Lp and recently repurchased it on the MCA Hendrix family authorized reissue......however that edition despite the same track listing and order is different.
This edition in question is nearly an extra 3 minutes long with an extended unedited introduction with a lot of stage chatter and tuning up etc. There is also more talking (not too much) between tracks that seems to have been left in the reissue but edited down.
Personally I prefer this version as it makes for a great atmosphere. It's not remastered but the sound quality for an early CD is excellent.
The 3 available editions of which this is the first are described as follows:
This edition complete and full, burning stratocaster cover and early West German CD pressing (silver to centre of disc)
2nd edition has same cover but is a Polydor reissue on a standard modern type CD with a clear centre and red coloured Polydor logo. (2nd edition is the same as the mid eighties Lp with a slightly edited intro)
3rd edition has a different cover of Hendrix kneeling in front of his burning guitar. This is the latest Hendrix family authorized reissue and is on the MCA label. Track listing and order is the same but has a slightly different introduction leading up to the music and its remastered.
Personally the version I'm reviewing (1st edition) is the best and well worth tracking down.
