Keeps light where it's supposed to be.
I've got a collection of Pentax M42 and Fuji XF lenses to mount on Fuji X cameras so I put on step up adapters to make the least amount of carry possible. The Nikon HN-23 now fits quite a number of lenses that I've got providing ample protection from non image forming light and most everything uses the same hood. The HN-23 extends far enough out, it's light, threads easily, and all can be capped with a 77mm center pinch lens cap. Stray light glancing on the objective lens can ruin an otherwise good photo but the kit I've put together is simple, interchangeable, very portable and very effective. If you're faced with similar dilemmas try the HN-23, HN-24, and HN-30 with the various lengths and all 62mm thread. They've proven to be a simple sturdy solution to a trinket problem.

It's a shady point of view.
Pretty shallow shading but I attached it to a B+W 77mm tele lens shade to then clamp refectors to the larger end shade so it's really not shading as much as it's anchoring other stuff. It is quite solid and threads precisely to the B+W 960/77 and when completed will be an asset to macro/micro field photography.

Resurrect them Old Lenses.
Mounts smoothly, securely, to GF X, and holds M42 at pretty close to true vertical lens orientation. Pentax SMC from early 70's were every bit as good as the best lenses so it's a tribute to yesteryear that they can still bark on their own and with K+F quality adapter they'll perform just as well forever to come. My only wish would be to include the correct allen wrench to adjust it but, "Oh well."
