It's basically your own private Sprint cell tower, fed through your internet connection.
1 of 1 found this helpful It works just fine now -- but I had a terrible time setting it up. I was replacing an older unit that had quit (perhaps from a power spike). The old one was the exact same model, and my guess is that the set up problem was because Sprint didn't "uninstall" the previous unit at their end until, on my fourth call to customer service, I got in contact with an Airave specialist who performed the required magic in the Sprint system.

Good value
Easy to program, in 30 minute blocks. Any number of on and off cycles through the day. But if you need a timer that goes on and off at the exact minute you need, this one is not for you.
