Exotic Survivor Locale and Fresh Challenges Make for Superior Season
Though underrated by some fans of the show, this ninth season of SURVIVOR takes place on the beautiful South Pacific archipelago islands of Vanuatu which feature beautiful, clear teal ocean waters and a variety of lush flora which help to feed the Survivor contestants more so than in most any other season. Adding to this wonderful tropical island location is the dynamic aspect of active, churning volcanoes and local tribal peoples who embrace the arrival of these "Survivors".
There are new challenges to be won, and the social interplay is at least on a par with other seasons... I would rank this season in the top six of the 25 or so Survivor seasons that I have viewed thus far.

Great Product Presentation for a Great Sci-Fi Adventure Movie
This is one of the better Blu-ray/DVD combo sets in release these days... I am a big fan of having the option to get a combo Blu-ray/DVD movie as some of us have not yet made the move up to a Blu-ray player but will be ready when we do.
The presentation of this film product is great and the addition of the collectible IMAX 70mm film cell to selected Blu-ray (DVD) sets is an excellent marketing idea.
Now, about the movie...; it handles a realisticly possible near future situation (the abandonment of a dying earth) with intelligence and social awareness. The acting of all the major players is superb, the screenplay is spot on, and the special effects are extraordinary. All factors combine to make for a cinematic experience that will leave you on the edge of your seat, and in my case, wish for an extended version of the film.

Spectacular Storytelling on a "Great" Wall Scale
1 of 1 found this helpful This movie "The Great Wall", starring Matt Damon, Jing Tian, and Willem Dafoe, proved to be a mystical and fanciful adventure concerning China's Great Wall history... Actor performances and the characters they portrayed worked on the level of telling the intended story. And probably the greatest aspect of this movie was the scope of the special effects... The effects were both exciting and mesmerizing. On this level the movie works as a solid form of entertainment. I have seen it twice so far and I enjoyed the movie just as much as in the second viewing.
