Pleasantly Surprised
The swim gloves were delivered quickly. They are actual neoprene, as I was hoping. I was looking for a cheap way to keep my wrists and hands warmer longer during open ocean swims...these did the job. The webbing between the fingers gives just a little boost to stroke propulsion, but any boost is fine with me. Seems well made. Ive worn them 3 times so far, no issues, fit well, comfortable, definitely keep hands and wrists warmer. I can stay in the cold water about 15-20 minutes longer than without the gloves...now my ankles are what's driving me out of the water, guess I'll need booties next lol. Overall, I'm happy : )

A Fun & Simple Path to Self Care!
"If You Loved Yourself..." is my kind of book; easy read, offers simple tools to increase self love and self compassion. A main takeaway I got from the book is that during any stressful situation, simply ask yourself the title question...what comes as your answer shows what it is you are needing. I'm learning that loving and showing self compassion to ourselves means giving ourselves what we need, and this is helping me so much to become aware of my needs! example: I was feeling stressed and tired the other day, ignoring my own needs in favor of other people's, as usual. I asked myself the title question. The answer was, "I would sit down, make a cup of tea and watch a movie!" So I decided to put off some errands till the next day and gave myself the gift of tea, and a movie, and the rest and space I needed. since reading the book, I have gotten into the habit of checking in with myself with this question to figure out what my needs are. lots more tools and insights in the book, this was just one of my main takeaways.
