Buying used? Here's what to watch out for ...
The joy stick on the backside is the Achilles heal of this camera. The form factor is just right for shoving in a tight jeans pocket, which my dear daughter has now done twice with the same result- the joy stick gets pulled off its internal mount and won't function in one or more directions (up, down, left, right and push in). The camera can't be controlled without the joystick. Any wobble in the joy stick means its off it mount. It is not practical to re-mount it (I've tried).
Sony addressed this problem in later models, such as the DSC-W70- the joy stick has a concave top.
Why did I buy? Well, I happen to have a waterproof sports case for the DSC-L1, which is probably worth more than the camera now ...
