Terrific read about a long unsolved real mystery!
The Franklin Expedition sailed in 1845 from England to the Arctic looking for the fabled Northwest Passage. 2 ships and 129 men were last seen by European whalers in July 1845 entering Baffin bay. They were never seen by European eyes again. The Inuit came across starving bands of white men 2-3 years later, and in some cases tried to help. All 129 men vanished as well as the two ships. That is until 2014 when the HMS Erebus wreck was found some 169 years later. In 2016 the wreck of the HMS Terror was found. Want to know what happened to all the crew? Get the book!
