The second one I have bought!
I paid considerably more for the first Buck Zipper I bought, having bought it on Fisherman's Wharf in Cali. It struck me then as a well designed knife for skinning/hunting. After using it a couple of seasons, it is most definitely my go to knife for skinning whitetails. Now my wife has started hunting, too, so I bought her one!
Buck has always produced a knife that will hold an edge well. The quality of steel they use is top notch. It is a little harder to sharpen to begin with, but touches up nicely once the bevel is established. The gut hook works well, though I am still learning how to re-sharpen it. The rubberized grip is easy to hold, even when wet or bloody, in either the standard position or upside down when using the hook. The included sheath has withstood a few years of the knife going in and out, and still looks new when cleaned up. Though it is nylon, it has a stiffener that keeps its shape for ease of insertion. If I ever lose mine...or the grand kids want to hunt, I'll buy a third!

Barnett has a winner here!
2 of 2 found this helpful My first crossbow was a Wildcat C5. I more or less stumbled into getting it, as I had never even held a crossbow before buying it. It was the only crossbow the local archery shop had, so I bought it, wanting to hunt with a bow, but not having a lot of experience with a standard bow either. I figured a crossbow would be a good way to transition from my rifle. Anyway the C5 served me well for a couple of years. I never failed to get a deer. Then the wife decided she wanted to hunt this year. So, I handed down my C5 to her, and bought the Ghost. Definitely a step up in speed from the C5. I find it a little easier to shoot freehand, as the balance is a touch better. The CRT really helps in this department. Construction overall is on par with much higher priced crossbows, in my opinion. Its fairly quiet, and doesn't lurch at all when fired. Manufacturer's packaging was great, everything in it's place. A full and complete package with bow, arrows (with tips), scope, cocking rope, and even a small tube of rail/string lube. I like not having the stirrup sticking out in front. Its just a mean looking weapon..lol Its a great bow, and a better value!
