A *LOT* better than I expected. build quality is great, sound is awesome.
I purchased this microphone to record YouTube video game commentaries (Let's plays) with my USB tube mic preamp.
The sound quality is excellent, with good tone quality. Large diaphragm microphones are sensitive, so try not to use a weed-eater while recording. If you can get the room fairly quiet, it's good enough. A splatter-shield (pop filter) is a must, particularly if you have a 6 ounce lisp voice.
I particularly liked the black chrome color, glossy, yet subdued, it really looks great.
These exact microphones are made by a single manufacturer, but labeled with various brands, so observe what you are price comparing..you may actually be comparing apples to apples in many cases in this price range. Speaking of price range...The quality is far in excess of what you'd expect for the money. I literally sound like an AM radio announcer, and the presence is *right there*..One of these very well may find it's way to the Radio desk for some experimentation on my Ham rigs.

HTC Touch Pro 2 the good, the bad, and the ugly.
9 of 12 found this helpful First off, the Touch Pro 2 is not my first Windows mobile phone, but it is easily the best one I've owned. Unfortunately I'd have been happier without the "Touchflow" interface that rides on top of the windows. I have very very few applications that I installed myself, and none of them run all the time, yet the phone seems never to break 50% resources free..touchflow is a real resource hog. It plays windows mobile games very adequately, but uses internet explorer as the "default" web browser, even though it comes with Opera as issued. Also of note, you can watch movies on it, but be sure you crunch them down to a feeble framerate and bitrate, as anything of any size will studder like an auctioneer with the hiccups. Short clips, like movie trailers play great..but who sits around watching those on their phone? Overall its one of the best phones I've seen or even heard of, and handily obliterates the Iphone in every way I can imagine. The fact that it's not an Apple is just icing on the cake, because in the end if the Iphone was better, I'd have kept it. Internet is 3g capable, and with the built in youtube functionality, you actually get to use it. SPB-TV is another application that makes full use of the 3g capability. The GPS works flawlessly with Google maps, and I see no reason to invest in expensive software when this freeware works, however turn by turn would be nice.
On the down side, sliding the keyboard in and out causes scratches on the left and right side of the keyboard (only visible when device has keyboard out) and this is a nearly unforgivable design flaw in an otherwise nearly perfect phone. Also of note, the touchflow OS is not nearly as configurable as one might think. For instance, I can find no way to remove "ESPN" from the list of 4 hotlinks on the internet tab...in fact I can find no way to modify what is contained in those links at all. The phone has *Never* successfully performed a windows update, and I've tried dozens of times. A locking mechanic (such as click here to unlock) would have been welcome, as I have had it randomly dial from the pocket..something my previous windows mobile never did due to the "click here to unlock" functionality available without the stupid touchflow. The screen protector looks like it would take a supreme effort to get on right the first time, and I am supremely lucky that one was installed on it for me. Lastly, Windows mobile *STILL* allows only 3 alarms (6.1)!?!?! and touchflow makes no effort to correct this issue either. Overall, If it were up to me, I'd quit issuing these to the troops with such a bloated interface running on top of an interface, and just send them out with windows mobile. I realize that It is done to help facilitate easier meshing with T-mobile's myfaves and other proprietary items..but it's like driving a breat truck in a drag race. The phone is literally bogging itself down in a clunky interface and is capable of lots more, If that memory were devoted to something more useful..like extra smiley faces for test messaging (sarcasm).
