Good but better sound in other Sony portable cd product
3 of 4 found this helpful I bought 2 Sony portable cd players. The D-E368CK plays crystal clear and seems to be skip proof. Sounds like a one-on-one performance it is so rich in sound and very quite in the music pauses and it has the G-protection too. The D-SJ301 is heavily durable so that might be a critical factor for most but the sound is not as rich and it does not have the total silence in the pauses of the music that the other has and of course it is very skip-proof! I was very lucky and bought the D-E368CK player for less than half the price of the "S2" player! I like the D-E368CK player because it is very light and much less bulky but it also may not survive hard use. I'll have to see how long it will last compared to the hardier "S2". It was easy to load batteries into both players. I like the side display and controls of the D-E368CK better than the controls on the "S2". The volume control is push button rather than the wheel that can be turned by accident on the "S2". It is easier to load the D-E368CK player since you don't have to open a locking tab but in hard use that lock may be better to have. I thought that since they were both Sony products they would be identical in sound quality. I have been so surprised about how much difference there is in the sound quality between the two players! Enjoy listening!

Every Show a Gem
I got this for my son's birthday. He loves it. He has had a hard time finding the second season of Alaska State Troopers for several months. I tried to get it through National Geographic and they didn't even have it! I checked eBay and at first and there wasn't any but a couple weeks later, it was offered in the original shrink wrap! I got free shipping and a reasonable price so I am very happy I could still get it for him for his birthday. He has started watching it and is really enjoying it. It has 4 discs and 825 hours of the show! He loves the stories about the wildlife the Alaska State Troopers have to deal with and the vast areas they have to cover. Every show is a gem.

Can't tell it is light pink color when lit up!
I thought I would be able to tell it was a light pink color light from it. It just looked white when it was lit up. I was disappointed. I was looking for pastel color light.
