Excellent base for a decent workstation
2 of 2 found this helpful Built a ubuntu 14.04 LTS based system with one of these. Installation and configuration were very smooth. Got an old ATI Fire Pro graphics card and added a mid-range SSD. Code that can make efficient use of the cores runs very well. I will upgrade the memory to 128GB from the stock 64.
Choose your case and power supply carefully - you will need two processor power supply cables and the form factor is unusual - this is a large motherboard.
