close to perfect
It's a slightly larger diameter than the stock knob. I would have preferred the same diameter. Otherwise it's perfect, looks fantastic in the car.

DOES NOT FIT MUSTANG GT. ONLY FITS GT350
Despite the compatibility chart, this knob DOES NOT fit a standard Mustang manual shift. It fits a GT350 shifter than has an M10 x 1.25 thread. The standard GT shift knob thread is M12 x 1.25.
There are factory knobs that have been drilled out and tapped by Mustang custom parts companies, I am returning this knob and buying one of those instead.

If you can get a properly bound copy, grab it.
Gordon's books are the most detailed volumes on Soviet and Russian aircraft available. They are tainted by his obvious spin on their capabilities versus American and other aircraft. If you take those with the grain of salt they deserve, you will have the most complete descriptions of each topic all between the covers of one book. For some reason this particular title shipped misbound copies- chapters missing and some duplicated. I actually bought and returned 3 copies elsewhere before getting this correctly bound copy. Worth the wait, though. Not cheap, either, but also worth the price.
