Lightweght, accurate and simple to use.
1 of 1 found this helpful I have used a Lensatic Compass, first issued in 1977, for 24 years in the Army. Countless land-nav courses and usual Infantry movements in field environments. With the advent of GPS and other high-speed low drag navigation systems, the military, as well as the civilian community has gotten away from good basic map reading and the use of a compass. Using this type of compass keeps you sharp in the woods.
