About
I'm a collector, plain and simple. If I see something that reminds me of something in the past, matches something I already have, or is just beautiful to me, I might have to have it. That said, just as often, it's time to let stuff go again.

Tenacious plants
I planted a row of these hollyhock and then it rained and rained, flooding the area in a swift-flowing little stream. I thought I'd have to replant but, soon, the seeds sprouted and are growing well. They must put down a nice root system because we've had more downpours which have not bothered the still-small plants.

Eggplant dreams
Alas, my sprouts all succumbed to some crazy bird who is biting all kinds of sprouting plants (even my marigolds!) at the stem bases. I thought at first it was cutworms but happened to see the bird once in the garden. After I figure it out, I put on a floating row cover and the damage stopped. Not in time for my eggplants this year, however. I ended up buying a couple plants that are too large for birds to pick on. Still, it's nothing to do with the seeds, which germinated fine. I'll plant more later on for a fall crop.

Strong plants
These seeds germinated perfectly (close to 99%) and have produced very healthy plants which are now putting on tomatoes. Couldn't ask for better, I don't think.
