Outstanding little book packed with thought provoking words throughout,

Outstanding classic all in color now
This is a wonderful 1994 Revised Edition of The Art of Watercolor by Charles Le Clair. I had the older 1987 edition with most of the photos in black and white. This 1994 edition is loaded with color images (there is a newer edition out now, too). The text is excellent. Techniques and methods are explained well, and examples enhance understanding. However, it is the chapters on concept, strategies, formalism and expressionism, realism and classic watercolor, and special effects that put this text in another league from watercolor books stressing technique only. Le Clair is a college professor and brings more depth to this work.
I probably have 20+ books on watercolor. This is an all-time favorite and one I refer to regularly.

Beautiful art book
Outstanding book published in conjunction with Burri's exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum of Art in NYC
In 2015. Those who love his work will love owning this beautiful book.
